- Charlotte Byndas, a senior director for strategy, workforce planning and operations within talent attraction, brings over 20 years of experience in talent attraction, workforce diversity, and workforce development.
- Scott Douse, lead recruiter for operations, has more than a decade of recruiting experience, including roles of increasing responsibility at Corewell, where he focuses creating a positive patient experience by recruiting skilled candidates.
Charlotte and Scott will share how they collaborate across departments, draw on diverse areas of expertise, and leverage external partners to increase retention, belonging, and productivity. They will provide an insider's view of how system thinking and centering around values drives outcomes.

Why This Is Important
As noted in our popular Talent Solutions Playbook — now in its third edition, with printed copies available to attendees on Nov. 8 — robust opportunities for professional development are an effective way to attract and retain talent.
This is especially true for the Millennial Generation, those born between 1981 and 1996, who make up the largest generational cohort of the West Michigan workforce, at 39%. As the Playbook notes, “Establishing clear career pathways, self-directed learning opportunities, and consistent feedback with managers can cultivate trust and loyalty while appealing to their desire for career progression.”
Research by Gartner finds that only 45% of employees believe internal learning programs are relevant to them. And among employees who quit within six months, according to Zippia, the leading factors they said could have helped them stay are better guidance about responsibilities (23%) and more effective training (21%).
